Obtaining a Library Card:

Obtaining a library card is free at the Wauseon Library and only takes a few minutes.

To apply, you must be 18 years or older. Children will be included on an adult Family Card to check out items or to use the internet computers.

You will need a photo ID and two pieces of current mail received within the last thirty days at your home address.

After filling out a registration form, and signing the internet policy if you wish to access our free internet computers, you will be given a library card and matching keychain card, either of which can be used to check out items or log-in to your account on our website.

On your first day with your new card, you can check out two books, and as many as you would like to be responsible for afterward. Audio-visual items including DVDs cannot be checked out on a new card for the first 30 days. After that, you may check out up to 4 DVDs at a time for the first year and more after that.

Your library card and the items borrowed with it will be your responsibility should they be overdue or lost. To replace a lost card is $1 the first time and $5 for each additional card.

Cards registered for teachers, homeschoolers, and home-bound patrons are also available. They include special privileges  and can optionally be stored on file at the library for easy use. More information available upon request.
