Registering

To obtain a Wauseon Library Card you will need 2 pieces of current mail within the last 30 days with your name and current address.  A current picture ID.  Youth/Juvenile (under 18 years of age) card will require the same information of the parent/legal guardian.

Policies

For first time users, there is a checkout limit of 2 items.  No audiovisuals are allowed to be checked out for the first 30 days.

The borrower's card is the property of the Wauseon Public Library.  Your first card is issued to you freely for the purpose of circulating library materials.  Each cardholder is responsible for all use of the card including fines on overdue materials and charges for lost or damaged items.  Replacement cards are $1.00 for the first replacement, and $5.00 for additional replacements.

Click here for additional information regarding Library Policies.

Fines

The computer system automatically calculates overdue fines.  A patron will be considered delinquent when a fine of $1.00 is owed.  Delinquent patrons will be prohibited from circulated materials or using equipment until fine is paid.

Overdue Notices

The SEO system sends out two overdue notices and if items are not returned they are followed with a billing statement. If no action was taken, they are then turned over to Unique Management Systems for collection. UMS proceeds to collect the fines and materials due to the library.
